Something Interesting…

Turkey women’s Nationals team beat Italy in a five set thriller to the win the European Championships this week. This gives them back to back European Championships and locks them in for the first European slot for the Olympics in 2028 hosted by the U.S. in Los Angeles, CA.

Also, on this day in 1986, China beat Cuba in four sets to win the World Championships held in Prague…making them the first team ever to take the title five straight times in the tournament’s history.

Lastly, Penn State finished off the longest win streak in women’s college volleyball history this week in 2010. They won 109 straight matches, which included four straight national titles and back to back 38 - 0 seasons.
