2025 RI Girls Volleyball Finale, Plus ResV Awards…

11/18/25

Welcome…

Ladies and gents, this is the moment you've waited for

Been searching in the dark, your sweat soakin' through the floor

And buried in your bones, there's an ache that you can't ignore

Takin' your breath, stealin' your mind

And all that was real is left behind

Don't fight it, it's comin' for ya, runnin' at ya

This is the greatest show

Where it's covered in all the colored lights

Where the runaways are runnin' the night

Impossible comes true, it's takin' over you

Oh, this is the greatest show!

What a show it was…

D4 Final…

After getting stunned in set one, the Titans figured it out and took the next three…cemented their undefeated season and crowning their achievement.

Here is what I learned…

  • Toll Gate’s Bella Hathaway is really hard to stop.

  • Woonsocket’s duo of Avery Caron and Jillian L’etoile played well and will be formidable next year.

  • Mackenzie Long is the top setter in the league for a reason.

  • Titans do not pull this out without heroics from Kashi Tran and Kayleigh Letellier.

  • Woonsocket got solid outings from Amberly Ripley and Karine Piette.

  • The biggest kill of the night to secure the match came from Toll Gate’s Samantha Meunier.

Unsung Heroes of the Championship Match…

Kashi Tran (Toll Gate)

Karine Piette (Woonsocket)

Amberly Ripley (Woonsocket)

D3 Final…

The Chieftains did not mess around in this one. Thought Tiverton fought valiantly, however, Ponaganset was built for the moment and took all three sets in commanding fashion. This match secured the undefeated campaign for the Chieftains and also solidified the idea that Ponaganset was a high level fish perhaps in the wrong pond.

Here is what else I learned…

  • Zoe Glover was an absolute force on the pin.

  • Alyssa Lupo was real good as the Libero, and Laurel Cournoyer was superb in the middle.

  • Olivia Rodrigues was top tier as a Lib as well for Tiverton.

  • Olivia Pereira may be the next Zoe Glover in 2026.

  • Sayler Owellette and Adysson Amaral battled well in this one and should be real good next year.

  • Rachel Lapham and Anna LeFontaine will be a dynamic duo next year as they were in this match.

Adysson Amaral (Tiverton)

Chloe Jackson (Tiverton)

D2 Final…

This one was the best match of the finals! The defending champs would end up dropping this one in five, but they battled and did not go into that good night quietly. Westerly played their brand of volleyball early, but then met the Eagle’s pushback… which almost knocked them over. Almost… In the end, the Bulldogs stood their ground and wrapped up the undefeated season in impressive fashion surviving the defending champs to the bitter end.

Here is what I got out of this one…

  • Alison Maranda played her best volleyball of the year in this one…Westerly does not win without her heroics.

  • Emma McCrann had the best match of the night. She practically willed this match in Barrington’s favor.

  • Lilly Floriani was the real deal at Libero. Top tier for the Eagles all night.

  • Svea Crawford had a tough day, but did not break. She kept battling and was huge in the final set.

  • Ella Reyes and Naima Basse are going to be very good and will battle each other for two more years!

  • Lyla Auth came up big when it mattered most, capping off a top tier high school career with an undefeated season!

D2 Champions - Westerly

Alison Marander (Westerly)

Annabelle Fowler (Westerly)

Emma McCrann (Barrington)

Unsung Heroes of the Championship Match…

Gemma Fusaro (Westerly)

Claudia Leonard (Barrington)

D1 Final…

This one had intrigue…however the defending champs (who were looking for four in a row!?!) figured out a way. East Providence was game and would take a set, but the women from the North refused to relinquish their crown. What has been done at NK should solidify the North Kingstown hall of fame credentials for both Brian Garrepy and Corey Maack. Both guys were HOF level players for NK as well as coaches. If there is to be a RI volleyball hall of fame, both should be in there as well.

Here is what I learned from this one…

  • Keira Mullen is going to have a great career in college. She carried poise the entire match and has all the tools to be successful.

  • Alison McCoombs and Rachel Hesford were really good for first years in a championship match.

  • Speaking of players who are going to be very good in the future…you can add Ella Grimley to that list.

  • I wish EP could have got the ball to Aliyah Evora more. When in rhythm, she was very hard to stop.

  • Tayla Schneider was top tier as NK’s orchestrator…made the right decisions more often then not, and made some huge defensive plays.

  • Kayleigh Garrepy was the truth in this match…and all year.

  • I’m not sure NK win’s this match if it were not for Isla Arnold just going off in this match. She played out of her mind and was the most unstoppable player in this one.
